Ralph Heiss

Hall of Fame induction: 2011

Ralph coached at Salesianum for thirty years in outdoor track and field and eighteen years in cross country with several years of helping with the indoor program. In cross country, he had 12 county and 16 state team champions, 8 individual champs, 32 First Team All-Staters, and 7 county and 3 state Coach of the Year Awards. His dual meet record was 120-10 including 71 wins in a row. In outdoor5 track and field, his dual meet record was 119-52, with seven county and nine state team champions, numerous state individual champions and state records, and five county and three state Coach of the Year Awards.

In 2001, the National Federation of High School Coaches Association named him the Boys Track and Field National Coach of the Year. He continues his involvement as the Salesianum Invitational Meet Director, as a member of the state track and field committee, and as an official at the Penn Relays and other area meets.
